Last week I decided to walk to the top of Sweatt Hill instead of walking along the path I usually take through the woods. There's a really nice view from the top, especially this time of year when the leaves are changing color. In one direction I could see the Prudential and Hancock skyscrapers in Boston, and I never knew that Boston was visible from my hometown.

It looks like foliage photos are pretty much done for the year, so now I'll just be waiting for the snow to come along and add some natural decoration to the outdoors.

I was outside taking photos of the clouds as a thunderstorm approached this evening. When the rain started I came inside and started looking through the photos I took. There were interesting patterns in the clouds, but nothing that begged to be posted here.

After the rain ended, the clouds gave way very quickly to clear skies in the west. Seeing light from the setting sun shine on the wall of my living room made me think that there was a possibility of a rainbow... and there certainly was. I really like this photo, but it's too bad that the house and trees were in the way because it looked like this rainbow was a complete arch. No doubt there was as leprechaun guarding a pot of gold on each end.

While I was drinking I started to notice that there were all sorts of air bubbles that seemed to be trying to escape from the ice. Naturally I stopped drinking the water and spent about 20 minutes taking photos of it. This is the end result.

Also, I'm pretty much done with updating the look of the website. I still plan on doing something else with the navigation menu, but just about everything else is finished. Hope you like it.

I've been working on refurbishing this website for the past few days. It's not a huge change... mostly just colors, plus a new flash header at the top of each page, and new images for the title of each page. The content is the same for now, but I will be adding a few new things to the mix during the next month or so.

There is still some work to be done, especially with the look of the blog posts and archives. And I plan on doing something else with the main navigation menu. Most of the pages you look at are good to go, and those that aren't will be all set in a couple of days
