It's been a while since I've posted anything here because I've had a lot of family stuff to tend to. But now I'm back to a fairly regular schedule so I'll be posting on more of a regular schedule, too.

This shot is one I took a week ago with the crescent moon and Venus. The long exposure I used to create this photo allows you to see the dark side of the moon pretty clearly. Good stuff.

By the way, the "contest" is still in effect. I've had a good response so far, and I promise I will get in touch with everyone who sent me something by the end of this week. I had two requests to take pictures of homeless people... what's up with that!? All of you who had legitimate and do-able photo assignments will get a framed photo as quickly as I can get it taken care of.

I don’t want to call this a contest, because everyone who enters will win and I think a contest implies that only one or a few people win. But I can’t think of anything better to call it, so it’s a contest. Anyway, it requires very little of your effort and that’s a good thing for you.

Here’s the deal. I want you to give me a photography assignment. That’s all.

Now, it has to be within reason because I’m not going to be able to fly to Antarctica to photograph emperor penguins or anything like that. So it has to be something that I can do in and around Boston, Providence, southern New Hampshire, and Cape Cod.

Here’s the part where you win. After I go out and photograph the assignment you gave me, I’ll give you a framed print of the best photo I get out of it. An online album of photos from the assignments will be available on gregburt.com

I will own the copyright for all photos taken during any assignment I agree to through this contest. I will stop accepting assignment ideas at 11:59 PM EST on February 28, 2007. If you enter multiple times, only one of your assignments will be chosen.

I have had a recent surge of interest and requests for wedding photography, and because of that I'll be putting together a wedding section for this website. Right now my pricing for wedding photography is lumped into events, but I think it deserves its own area here. After all, weddings are more significant than most other events.

My hourly rate will remain the same, but I'm going to put together some package deals to make things easier for potential customers. I should have it all put together in the next couple of weeks.
