Blackstone Gorge

http://www.gregburt.com/blogimages/2006/10/blackstone%20gorge-thumb.jpgSo I went on two hikes today. Now, that might lead you to believe that I'm in really good shape... and if you want to believe that, please do.

Anyway, this morning I went on a typical hike near my house. There wasn't anything really exciting to take pictures of, but there were a lot more birds than usual. Birds really aren't into sitting still for portraits, though.

This afternoon, I was looking at maps and doing some research online to find a place for some photos. I decided on the Blackstone Gorge. I got a little off course on the drive there and a little off course on the drive home, but that's part of the fun.

Rolling Dam is what you see in the picture at the start of this blog post, and that's where the hiking trails start. I enjoyed my hike, and I'm happy to say that I avoided falling off of the rocks into the river which surely would have carried me away to some distant land (probably Woonsocket).

There is some foliage

http://www.gregburt.com/blogimages/2006/10/DSCN1493-cropped-thumb.jpgI had to walk about a half mile deep into the woods to find some worthy trees that had decent colors.

The colors are very disappointing this year. Then again, it's not that surprising considering about 3/4 of the maple leaves were eaten by inch worms in the spring.

Church Time

http://www.gregburt.com/blogimages/2006/10/First%20Baptist%20-%20NA-bw-sm-thumb.jpgI was driving around today trying to find some foliage I could take pictures of, but it's all pretty bland.

So I found this church that was lit up nicely by the sun and snapped a few shots.

Buy Stuff at the Store

comingsoon.jpgThere's a new store here... just click on the Store link in the menu. Right now there are just a few prints for sale, but I'll be adding a lot of stuff very quickly. I suppose you could call it version 1.0 at this point.

PayPal is taking care of the checkout process, so things should run smoothly and it allows you to use a credit card even if you're not registered with PayPal.

So, check it out now and check back soon to see more cool stuff you can buy as gifts or for yourself.
