Rain

http://www.gregburt.com/blogimages/2006/06/flower%20in%20the%20rain2-thumb.jpg As is the theme for the spring and summer of 2006 here in Massachusetts, it has been raining for the past three days. I think I might go visit Seattle to dry out a bit.

The flowers seem to be doing quite well with the rain.

There is some rain forecast for next week, but I think I'll still be able to get out to the U.S. Women's Open golf tournament on Wednesday to snap a few pictures. I have a couple of other planned photo shoots on the horizon after that so keep coming back here for more good stuff.

New Hampshire

http://www.gregburt.com/blogimages/2006/06/winnipesaukee-thumb.jpgI spent this past weekend camping in New Hampshire. If I had known that motorcycle week was going on in Laconia I would have planned to take some photos there. I had other plans, but I did see hundreds of motorcycles on the roads. Some of those plans included boating on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Next week, I'm heading out to a practice round of the U.S. Womens' Open golf tournament to get some pictures. So if you're into golf or women golfers, make sure you come back to this site to see some of the photos I will have taken.

Live Coverage!

http://www.gregburt.com/blogimages/2006/06/DSCN0223-smweb-thumb.jpgI was out the the Red Rock in North Kingstown, RI last night basking in the sonic glow of my favorite cover band, Live Coverage. They were a bit tired as they had already played a show earlier in the day, but they still got the crowd dancing.

Here are a few highlights of photos I took at the show...

Hummingbird Moth

http://www.gregburt.com/blogimages/2006/06/moth-thumb.jpgSo, I'm a nature geek. I was outside today taking pictures of bees around the flowers in the garden in front of my house and saw this guy flying around. At first, I thought it was an enormous bee, but when I got to see it flying around it was obvious that it wasn't a bee. Turns out it's called a Snowberry Clearwing Hummingbird Moth. I've seen these things before, but this is the first time I saw one when I had my camera in my hand.

I'm not all that thrilled with the quality of the photo, but it's the only shot I was able to get of this bug today and I wanted to share it with everyone.

Upcoming photo projects that I will show off on this site:
* New England Patriots training camp
* Bash Bish Falls (in southwestern Massachusetts)
* Boston
* Boston Harbor Lighthouses
* New York City
